Beatport Beach Party!
One event that caught our eye, and will possibly do the same for those of you that have blown some major dough on Ultra tickets and accommodations: starting on march 26 throughout the 28th, beatport records will be hosting a 3 day beach party taking place behind the gansevoort south hotel. Beachport is teaming up with Insomniac Events of Los Angeles and the Opium Group of Miami to produce a multisensory experience that will blow you away.Why would this interest me you ask, besides the obvious? well, its FREE! One of the few events during WMC that wont have a cover fee of at least $20, while still keeping the benefit of a killer lineup. On the tables will be;
░Friday░ AC Slater vs. Jack Beats, Bad Boy Bill, Bingo Players, Craze vs. Klever, DJ Dan, Roger Sanchez
░Saturday░ DJ Chuckie (Dirty Dutch), James Zabiela, Kim Fai, Mark Knight, M.A.N.D.Y., Next Generation DJ Winner – Maya Vanya, L.A. Riots, Sidney Samson (Dirty Dutch), Shermanology (Dirty Dutch)

So write this down and get your bikini-clad butt over to the Gasenvoort South, (2377 Collins avenue, Miami Beach).
Gen art: Fresh Faces Fashion Show
Wednsday night was the beginning of Fashion Miami, and to get this party started was the Genart fresh faces fashion show, hosting an array of new and established designers. Last night was absolutely hectic. Needless to say, the Genart team pulled together seamlessly to create a live wearable-art show. Collections by Duskin, Lialia, By Smith, Fernanda Carneiro, Romina Heighes, and Whitney Eve by Whitney Port were featured. Photos courtesy of Miami New Times.
Happy Birthday Electric Pickle
Last Friday the Electric Pickle celebrated one year of quality underground electronic music. Since its opening, the pickle has been much appreciated by locals for its no-frills, non exclusive air. Which can be a rare occurrence in south beach night life. On the bill were some of the most current electronic artists without the huge line of people outside that will never get in. Featured, were live jams from Filthy Dukes, Body Language live, Systematic label head Marc Romboy, Metro Area, Jeremy Greenspan, Captain ridiculous and lots more. A night to remember. Cheers to you, Electric pickle, and keep up the non-pretentiousness, we love you for it.
Ultra
Only 31 days,1 hour, 18 minutes… Until Ultra Music Festival kicks off
Let the line up rumors begin!
Despite Ultra Music Fest 2010 still being a month away, hotel rooms are starting to get totally booked and ticket prices are shooting up. Even though the Cavalia tent still has its steak in Bicentennial Park (for now) start dusting off your glowsticks and rainbow bracelts for an ALL DAY rave with some of the best DJ’s in the world
Never been before?
Here are some pointers
1. Do NOT wear sandals. You are more likely to return home with a staph infection than those sandals you wore.
2. Bring a hat or sunscreen, and some sunglasses. This is Miami after all.
3. Bottled water at ultra will cost you what alcohol costs at a club. Bring your own if possible.
4. Bring cash. Yes there are ATMs, but you will regret it once you see how much the fee for using it was.
5. If you do decide you MUST get to the front, do so at the rick of being trampled… oh and good luck getting out.
Thats all for now, stay tuned.
Food Network Food & Wine Festival: Heading to Miami
This year marks the 9th annual Food Network’s Wine and Food festival. From the 25th of February till the 28th, The Food Network will be serving up a plethora of yummy events, conventions, and tastings for those of us already enjoying paradise here in Miami Beach, but more importantly, for all you out of towners trying to get away from a blizzard or two. Some of the competitors include 8 Oz. Burger Bar, BLT Burger, China Grill Management, Meat Market, Shake Shack, Bourbon Steak, and many many more.
